چکیده

This study views the connectivity problem in ad hoc networks from a new perspective, by defining the critical transmission range for k-connectivity as a random variable and finding statistical models for this random variable when k = 1, 2, 3.

ADAPTIVE ORDERED WEIGHTED AVERAGING FOR ANOMALY DETECTION IN CLUSTER-BASED MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKS

In this paper, an anomaly detection method in cluster-based mobile ad hoc networks with ad hoc on demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol is proposed. In the method, the required features for describing the normal behavior of AODV are defined via step by step analysis of AODV and independent of any attack. In order to learn the normal behavior of AODV, a fuzzy averaging method is used fo...

A Fuzzy Realistic Mobility Model for Ad hoc Networks

Realistic mobility models can demonstrate more precise evaluation results because their parameters are closer to the reality. In this paper a realistic Fuzzy Mobility Model has been proposed. This model has rules which are changeable depending on nodes and environmental conditions. It seems that this model is more complete than other mobility models. After simulation, it was found out that not o...

Connectivity in Wireless Ad-hoc Networks with a Log-normal Radio Model

In this paper we study connectivity in wireless ad-hoc networks by modeling the network as an undirected geometric random graph. The novel aspect in our study is that for finding the link probability between nodes we use a radio model that takes into account statistical variations of the radio signal power around its mean value. We show that these variations, that are unavoidably caused by the ...

Title of dissertation: CONNECTIVITY ANALYSIS OF WIRELESS AD-HOC NETWORKS Guang Han, Doctor of Philosophy, 2007 Dissertation directed by: Professor Armand Makowski Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Connectivity is one of the most fundamental properties of wireless ad-hoc networks as most network functions are predicated upon the network being connected. Although increasing node t...
